Message from Chairman
Dr. Goutam Sengupta

After the National Convention NCQC 2014 held during December 2014 at Pune, QCFI, Kolkata Chapter was encouraged and motivated in introduction of Innovation Circle Concept and have initiated to introduce this new concept amongst the member organizations of QCFI.  We are sure that many organizations will take interest in this new concept and we would encourage them to send Innovation Circle Teams in our next Annual Chapter Convention – CCQC 2015 which is scheduled on 22nd September 2015 at Taj Bengal, Kolkata.  It appears that QCFI is emerging as a giant body in India with a bigger horizon of its Quality Activities.

It is also noteworthy to suggest here that this time Kolkata Chapter is ambitious to launch 125 teams in its Annual Convention CCQC 2015 compared to 87 teams in CCQC 2014.  All Governing Council members of Kolkata Chapter have been motivated to make this target a grand success and we also spread this message across to all our member organizations and QCFI friends to master strong at the CCQC 2015, Kolkata.

As we have informed through our newsletter earlier, Kolkata Chapter is trying its best to make a stronghold in North Eastern Region, especially in Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram where we envisage a large workforce constituting the bottom level workers in SSI Units, Handicrafts, Agriculture and even in various departments of the states in the N. E. Region will benefit by an exposure to Quality Circle platform in small group activities and developing skill and innovation. We are hopeful by 2015 we will be successful in implementation of QC in this region.

As is traditional with QCFI, Kolkata Chapter that it has been working on QCFI Objectives towards its fulfillment in Eastern Region in collaboration with QCFI Headquarters over the years and we have a dossier of programmes ahead in this year like Trainers Training etc. where Shri D. K. Srivastava, Executive Director alone conducts such programmes  in proving his mettle. Such programmes as Change Management, Stress Management, Lean Quality Circles are the new additions which we must carry forward with success.

My best wishes to all our QCFI friends,

Jai Hind,

Message from Honorary General Secretary
A K Dasgupta

I was quite encourage to learn that Patton International Limited have been honoured with the covetous award of Top Exporter in Eastern Region and on 14th January 2015, Shri Sanjay Budhia, Managing Director, Patton India Limited received the award from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. We feel it is a pride for Bengal also, as business growth and Industrial proliferation are most important agenda in Bengal now. On behalf of QCFI, Kolkata Chapter we wish congratulations and all success to to Patton International and we hope many such potential organizations shall come out with flying colours in future also.

We, at our QCFI, Kolkata Chapter, also feel that all our activities are aimed toward Business excellence through Quality Circle and TQM platforms. We are also following the National Agenda in the prime sectors of 1) Health 2) Education and 3) Industry.  Besides service and manufacturing sectors in Bengal as well as in India, we have been able to carry out QCFI activities quite a lot in Education and Healthcare sectors also. Through our newsletters we have highlighted our inhouse programmes, workshops and seminars on activities in these sectors.

I am also encouraged to inform to our readers that on 19th September 2014, we had met Shri Kesharinath Tripathi, His Excellency, Governor of Wes Bengal and were privileged to felicitate him on behalf of QCFI, Kolkata Chapter.  The new Governor of West Bengal enlightened us of the need for CLEAN INDIA movement and we also apprised him of our plan of 5S programmes not only in the industry but also in Education Sector where the future citizens of India should get an exposure of this Japanese Concept.

None but the least, amongst all the activities of QCFI, Kolkata Chapter, we have become ambitious to set a target of 125 Teams in our next Annual Chapter Convention CCQC 2015 which is scheduled on 22nd September 2015 at Taj Bengal Hotel, Kolkata. We request all our member organizations and QCFI friends to make it a grand success in the year 2015.

Jai Hind,
